Rumors, lies and innuendo spread far, wide and fast on the internet

i do agree that rumors, lies and innuendo spread far, wide and fast on the internet. This happened because people do rely and trust on what they heard such as news, stories or even rumors in the internet. In a national poll commissioned by Streaming Media, 1232 respndents were asked about what sources they trust the most for news. Of the 550 regular intrnet users in the poll, 76% said they could learn everything they need to know from the net; 51% said the internet had the most accurate information. This shows that people really trust the internet as a reliable source of information eventhough it is innacurate or falsely made because once the news is posted,it is officially spread throughout the world which convinced people that it is true.internet is the fastest and the most easiest way to spread news in just a few clicks and doesnt even cost a cent in doing that, which made it easier for anybody to spread lies, conspiracy, rumors and innuendo on the internet.Competition among Web sites and ability for consumers to move rapidly between those sites furthers the need for reporters to lead with scandal and false reports in order to catch consumer's attention.Further more, certain rumors on the Internet are clearly promoted for partisan political gain and to advance a particular ideology.Rumors, lies and innuendo will not disappear, but, we must make ourselves aware of the various types of reporting that can be found on the Web and hope that market forces will encourage high-quality reporting as opposed to unsubstantiated rumors passing as news.
